100+ Google ReviewsWe Fix the Cause. Not Just the Symptom.

SOUND FAMILIAR?
You Love Your Dog. But Right Now, Life With Them Is Hard.
Walks feel like a battle, visitors are stressful and nothing you have tried has stuck. You have watched the videos and asked for advice, but the behaviour keeps coming back. You are not alone, and it can change.
HOW IT WORKS
Your Initial Consult, Step by Step
Most trainers tell you what to do. We make sure you understand why your dog is doing what they do, so the plan makes sense and the results last.
A Deep Dive Into Your Life Together
Your 2 hour consult starts with how you live with your dog at home, their history and what you have already tried.
Getting to the Root Cause
We work out why the behaviour is happening, not just what it looks like, so you finally understand your dog.
Your Plan, Started on the Day
We build a training plan around your goals and start it with you in the session, so you leave knowing exactly what to do.
Next Steps, Together
We talk through how to move forward, whether that is more private sessions, group classes or carrying on at home with our support.
WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY
Real Results From Local Dog Owners
COMMON CHALLENGES
Every dog and every family is different, so every plan is too. These are the most common reasons Sunshine Coast owners come to us for one on one training.
What We Help With
Reactivity & Aggression
Lunging, barking or growling at dogs, people or cars. We find out what is driving the behaviour and teach your dog to make better choices, so walks feel safe again.
-
Reactivity is usually driven by fear, frustration or over excitement, not a naughty dog. Your initial consult works out what is behind your dog’s reactions, so we change the cause rather than just covering up the symptom.
-
Yes. Aggression is one of the most common issues we help with. Let us know about any bite history when you book, so we can plan a safe consult for everyone.
-
Not straight away. First we give you and your dog the skills you need, so that when another dog is introduced you are both set up to succeed. Then we start at a distance your dog can cope with and build up gradually. Our indoor training centre in Coolum Beach lets us control the environment, so you and your dog can learn while feeling safe.
-
Every dog is different. At the end of your initial consult we talk through your goals, the progress to expect and whether more private sessions or classes are the right next step.
-
Private training is the best place to start. Once you and your dog are ready and feeling up to it, we talk about group classes or social classes. Group classes are the end goal for all our reactive dogs!
Anxiety & Fear
Separation stress, fear of new places, noise phobias or a dog who just can’t settle. We build confidence step by step at a pace your dog can cope with.
-
Yes. We look at your daily routine, what happens when you leave and how your dog copes, then build a step by step plan to help them feel safe on their own.
-
Yes. We introduce new things slowly and positively, at your dog's pace, so they learn the world is safe. We also show you how to support them on walks and at home.
-
No. Dogs can learn at any age. We adapt the plan to suit your dog's age, health and energy, so they can make progress comfortably.
-
Sometimes, yes. In your assessment we look into any medical issues that may be affecting your dog's behaviour and watch for signs that pain or health may be playing a part. If a vet check would be a good addition to your behaviour modification plan, we will let you know.
-
Most anxious dogs improve a lot with the right plan. Our goal is a dog who copes better and a calmer home, with realistic steps you can keep practising every day.
Puppy Development
Toilet training, biting, chewing, jumping up and socialisation done right. Set your puppy up early with good habits and a confident start to life.
-
The earlier the better. Puppies learn from the day they come home, and it is much easier to build good habits early than to change them later.
-
A free session for new puppy owners and a great first step. It is booked through our online booking system, and new dates are added there as soon as they are scheduled.
-
Private training gives you a plan built around your home, your family and your puppy’s habits. Our 6 week group classes help your puppy learn around other dogs and build general skills. Many owners do both.
-
Yes, it is a normal part of growing up, but it still needs guidance. We show you how to manage biting and chewing and set up your home so your puppy can succeed.
Obedience, Recall & Loose Lead
Pulling on the lead, not coming when called, jumping on visitors or barking at everything. Practical skills that work at home, on the beach and around town.
-
We teach your dog that a loose lead is what gets them where they want to go, and show you simple handling skills that keep walks enjoyable in the real world.
-
Yes. We build a reliable recall step by step, starting somewhere easy and adding distractions as your dog improves, so you can trust them at the beach and the park, and they can live their best life!
-
We teach your dog a calm alternative, like sitting to say hello, and give you a plan to practise with family and friends at home.
-
That is the whole point. Everything we teach is built for real life, and your plan includes practice for home, walks and busy places around town.
